Functions & Modeling Workshop Information

 

  • Lodging - All non-local participants will be staying at the Embassy Suites, located adjacent to NAU's Mountain Campus.  The Embassy Suites is within walking distance of the Problem Solving via Inquiry-Based Learning workshop and downtown Flagstaff.

  • Meals - Breakfast will be provided at the Embassy Suites.  A working lunch will be provided during the workshop days, dinner is on your own. 

 

  • Travel - You will be reimbursed for up to $500 for travel expenses.  Any amount spent on travel above and beyond $500 will be your responsibility to pay.  Traveling to/from Flagstaff should be do-able in under $500 from most western regional states.

    • TO RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT - Please keep all receipts and proof of purchases for tickets, shuttles, car rentals, etc so we may reimburse you.

      • Renting a car could also be an option to drive up to Flagstaff, though it is advised that you rent a car one way so that you avoid a weekly charge. NOTICE: The cost of renting a car will only be covered if it used to get to Flagstaff. It will not be covered if it is used to drive around or explore Flagstaff.

      • The nearest major airport is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.  A shuttle service from Sky Harbor to Flagstaff is available.  https://www.arizonashuttle.com/schedules/flagstaff-phoenix/

      • Flagstaff Pulliam Airport has regular scheduled flights into and out of Flagstaff via Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport; a short cab ride will take you from the airport to the Embassy Suites near Northern Arizona University's Mountain Campus.
